About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant and Controller to join our finance team and contribute to the growth of 2Performant. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other required documentation in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Manage the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and reconciliation of accounts, verification, and tax returns.
  • Register, monitor, and review journal entries and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
  • Ensure a smooth invoicing process (issuing, registering, reporting, etc.), including SPV.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies identified in financial data by developing and implementing appropriate action plans.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external departments to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and internal company policies.
  • Maintain relationships with tax authorities and statistical authorities, and actively participate in the preparation of various reports and statements required by these authorities.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities during audits and inspections.
  • Support the finance team in creating budgets, financial forecasts, and performance analyses.
  • Provide actionable insights to improve financial performance and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and financial controls to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on new accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a fast-paced environment (accounting services company).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or a professional certification such as CECCAR or ACCA is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Saga, Ciel, and others are a plus).
  • Advanced skills in using MS Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax legislation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and address priorities.
  • Excellent communication in Romanian and English, both written and verbal.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Autonomous, proactive, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • React quickly and effectively to challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
